Be it your house or your office, furniture design is important for every space. Modern furniture design truly has the capability to change the environment and the way it appears. Most of the people generally give no importance to modern design while they may spend hours designing the interiors for their homes or offices. Choosing the correct furniture to balance the design of a room is of great importance, as nothing looks worse than mismatched pieces in a modern room; this look is fine for an eclectic feel, but not for the individual who wants sleek lines, high gloss and statement style.
In any business office that has regular clients coming and going, the first impression about that business is made in the reception area. The reception furniture, your decor and the ambiance of your reception area can say a lot about who you are and what you do. It is often the first impression that new or potential clients have of you, so you want to make sure that the impression you want is given in your reception area. One of the biggest and most important investments in the reception room is in the furniture, which falls into three main categories.
Every project undertaken by Jacobs Joinery is different - it's what bespoke joinery really means! Since each project is unique the wood used is different - below we describe some of the timber used by Jacobs Joinery with a few notes about the nature of the wood, its suitability for different uses and its strength and weaknesses. Iroko is a large hardwood tree from the west coast of tropical Africa. It is one of the woods sometimes referred to as African Teak, although it is unrelated to the teak family.
