We offer a high quality furniture repair and restoration service and some other things besides. We work from Home in Dudley, West Midlands and as a result large items which require collection/delivery will restrict our ability to remain competitive for work located more than 10 miles from Dudley. The majority of our work comes from personal recommendation but, we recognise that your furniture is valuable and in many cases a priceless heirloom so you may want to do some additional research before you entrust it to just anyone.

Gary and Carole Ann Mills are partners in the company Gmac, (it's an anagram of our initials). In 2003 we bought a furniture repair franchise and worked on furniture of all kinds for private clients and on behalf of most major retailers, manufacturers and insurance companies.
Furniture repair is the mainstay of the business and literally any piece of furniture in any condition can be restored. It can be a time consuming job if done properly so some pieces may be considered beyond economic repair but the final choice is left to the customer. New (mostly imported) furniture is unbelievably inexpensive though its construction and quality is poor and lifespan limited. Most of our work comes from those who appreciate the quality of the furniture they own and cannot replace it with equivalent quality either due to the cost or the fact it is irreplaceable for sentimental reasons.
Very large and heavy pine table which only just fits in my workshop. It's had a hard life over the years but it's good for a few more now.
Sometimes an attempt to fix things yourself as in the first photo can result in more work for me and a larger final cost. It sounds like a sales pitch but generally speaking unless you are confident in your knowledge and ability don't do anything drastic before you call a restorer.
The same applies to tables too. Please don't drag tables across carpeted floors as this can be the result
One of the problems with modern glues that are "stronger than the wood" is that when you rock on chairs the wood breaks this was close to needing lots more work or scrapping but just saved it in time
Well l really like working with wood but this was literally taking it to another level. Hopefully next week will have some nice little restoration jobs to fix
