Newman & Bright, home of tailor made leather sofas is one of the few workshops in the UK producing hand-crafted upholstery. We manufacture a variety of fabric and leather sofas from locally sourced materials and offer a bespoke service to cater for our customers' own seating requirements.

We are experts in the production of fabric and leather sofas; our small workshop is staffed by time served craftsmen and our models are made from locally sourced fillings and timber frames. As one of the few remaining bespoke sofa manufacturers in the North West we can tailor our sofas to our customers' needs and are small enough to give genuine care and attention to individual orders. We have generations of experience in the use of both pigmented and natural aniline finishes and have a large variety of colours and textures to choose from. Our time served upholsterers produce some of the finest examples of classic Chesterfield models in the industry, made with the most patient and careful attention to detail.

Our range of classical leather and fabric chairs are produced by us in the same workshops and to the same standards as our Chesterfield sofas. All chairs are hand produced and made from quality leathers and fine hardwoods. The most popular leather finish is the 2-tone that is individually antiqued and has a textured surface. We also use natural aniline leathers and plain colours where a more uniform finish is preferred. The most popular of Chesterfield models, the Buckingham Tudor is a traditional Chesterfield classic sofa that will lend refinement and elegance to your home, with its all round buttoning and studding. Due to the demand of Chesterfield corner sofas, we have designed a corner version of the Buckingham Tudor, this can be made with any number of seats and with either a rounded corner (as shown) or a square corner. Leather is produced by the tanning and finishing of hides and skins which are a by-product of mainly domestic animals. Due to the large panels necessary for the production of leather upholstery, it is cow hide that is preferred in the vast majority of cases. Every hide has its own unique signature and if examined carefully will show its own history from its grazing habits to the climate in which it was raised. It is these so-called defects that give leather its character. As a natural material leather does contain various scars that we will always endeavour to cut out or hide but this may not be possible with every hide of leather, these scars should not be seen as a defect in the leather but rather a byproduct of a natural material.

At Newman & Bright our products are manufactured to the highest quality and we are confident that you will enjoy your sofas problem free. Before leaving our factory, all our sofas are inspected to ensure they are in top condition. We will guarantee the integrity of the structure and materials of the product for a period of five years. In the rare event that you do experience any fault we will send a professional furniture expert to your home to repair your furniture to new condition free of charge.
