This client is based in Broughty Ferry near Dundee, and found me on Google. She explained that although she was happy with the layout of her kitchen, she no longer liked the 'real wood' effect. Rather than replace the kitchen, she chose to renovate it by changing the colour to something fresh and modern and replacing the floor. We chose Farrow and Ball's 'ammonite' which is described as a 'naturally understated grey' with a contrasting rich, dark colour for the detail. Looking at the contrast between the unpainted and painted kitchen, it's astonishing how different the kitchen looks.
We have extensive knowledge and experience of traditional painting skills that have been used by craftsmen for centuries, and I have used that knowledge to build a business that transforms mundane pieces of everyday furniture into unique masterpieces. Having served my apprenticeship in our family-run decorating business, established in 1960. I now use the skills passed on to me by my father in the decorative paint finishes applied to furniture. Most of the modern paint finishes are simply an adaptation of techniques used by craftsmen in years gone by.
This is a Clive Christian Kitchen fitted approximately 20 years ago in a new house in Edinburgh. My client recently bought the house and wished to change the look of the kitchen. The client had new work surfaces fitted. All the doors and drawer fronts were removed and primer was applied. Note the detail on the extractor hood in the finished images. If you look at the first picture you will notice the open fret work on the extractor, to give a more modern look I covered this with thin plywood. The paint used was Farrow & Ball ‘Pointing' estate eggshell.

This has been in the planning stages for quite some time, we had planned on replacing the worktops but my fitter couldn't manage to carry this out pre Christmas and since then.
A nice little kitchen to finish up for the Christmas holidays. The client wanted to keep some of the natural wood in her kitchen so just the doors and drawer fronts painted in Farrow&ball 'farrows cream' (it looks like different colours but that's just the lighting), new handles help to modernise.

When I arrived at the job I carried out last week (see previous post) my client asked if I could paint a dresser that they bought. They wanted it to match the newly painted kitchen cabinets. I took the dresser back to my workshop on Friday after finishing the kitchen and worked on it over the.
