Regent Antiques was established in 1980. Born out of a natural love for art and beautiful objects, we have been a highly respected member of the antique fraternity ever since. Industry bodies of which we are a member include LAPADA and CINOA. Over the decades our business has gradually evolved from being one of the leading wholesalers to some of Continental Europe's finest dealers to our current focus of having a substantial online presence as well as a passion for dealing with individual and corporate clients on a bespoke basis.

Our antique Victorian sideboards, and those from other historic periods in furniture making history are crafted from the finest burr walnut and many of our antique credenzas have glass doors for display purposes. Some pieces also feature beautiful Sevres porcelain plaques and ormolu decoration to further enhance their appearance. One of our currently listed pieces is virtually identical to that seen in the award winning television drama Downton Abbey filmed at Highclere Castle in Hampshire - the home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.

We present a range of antique dining chairs in a variety of styles and from various periods to accommodate your guests in complete comfort. Most of our antique dining chairs and period style dining chairs are available in sets or individually if you prefer, enabling you to find the perfect antique dining chair for your requirements and setting. Then, of course, there is the one item of bedroom furniture that you simply could not do without - the bedside cabinet - although, as several of you have pointed out, the bed is pretty important as well. We are always looking out for new and interesting items of garden furniture, statuary, water features and other interesting things to help to achieve a beautiful and tranquil outdoor space for you and your friends and family. A well placed statue will provide a focal point and, if accompanied by a garden bench or chair, often proves to be a popular place to sit and watch the wildlife.

Whilst some lighting is simply functional, there is also a lot of it which is there to provide atmosphere and ambience and to emphasise other design elements of an interior, such as wall surfaces and textures, or indeed an exterior in some cases. In fact, were it not for the high cost of marble today, it would still be in use by many more sculptors for creating marble statues. As we deal mainly in antique marble statues and other works of art, we have access to a plentiful supply of pieces, all chosen with quality in mind. Marble has a very distinguished look and feel and can add authority and ambience to any surrounding, be it domestic or commercial.

With the possible exception of the bed itself, probably the most used item of furniture in many people's bedroom is the bedside cabinet. A book, a glass of water, the alarm clock and, in my case, my glasses - which are the last thing I take off before going to sleep. All of these depend for their very existence on that one piece of bedroom furniture that everyone must have - the bedside cabinet or bedside table. If you don't already have one, or if you fancy a change, you have come to the right place.

Console tables often incorporate one or more drawers for storage purposes and there is a variation of the genre which is known as a "console chest, " which offers even more storage capacity by way of having several drawers. Here at Regent Antiques we are pleased to be able to offer a wide choice of carefully selected console tables and console chests ranging from highly ornate Regency style pieces through to tables made in the Chippendale style and, moving into the 20th century with some fine minimalist Art-Deco pieces as well.

They are, after all, subjected to much more rigorous use and often, not surprisingly, they require reupholstering and sometimes even more serious work of a structural nature before we can offer them for sale to our customers. When you have found the perfect antique dining table, the one that really fits the bill completely, we come to the question of chairs. If you have purchased an antique table it is often the case that the original chairs are not available or that the set is incomplete. We do, however, still manage to acquire antique dining table and chair sets and offer them for sale, so do keep an eye out and visit this category regularly.

You might be forgiven for thinking that bookcases are definitely the latter - essential items of storage for those who have a large book collection but you'd be wrong, albeit only slightly wrong. In fact, despite their utilitarian origins, bookcases are, when filled with books, often things of great beauty, lighting up a room and giving hours of pleasure to those who like to browse - even if they don't actually read the books that they are browsing. Nowadays of course the need to store books has extended into the need to store other items such as DVDs, CDs, magazines and videos.
