We pride ourselves on our desire to exceed customer expectations. By bringing together a unique and talented team we deliver the ultimate garden centre experience. Our specialist buyers travel far and wide to discover trends, products and plants with one aim in mind, to engage and excite customers on their visit to Burston. The site on which Burston Garden Centre and Hertfordshire Fisheries is located has been owned by the Pearson family since the 1978. To this day the family maintain a high level of interest, participation and commitment to both the Garden Centre and the Aquatics arm of the business.
This year at Burston we are proud to introduce the beautiful Solana range. Made from high quality aluminium which is usually used in boat building, the Solana is lightweight with stackable chairs which make them easy to store. The table tops are made using a combination of Eucalyptus sawdust and polyethylene resin to create an FSC certified Duraboard top which is highly UV resistant and scratch resistant. In the collection we have four, six and eight seater dining sets to accommodate any family size and you can also swap your stackable textilene chairs with multi-position reclining chairs for that extra level of comfort.
To maintain a healthy, flourishing and colourful garden it is essential to keep it well watered. Gardeners shouldn't be fooled into thinking that rainfall is always enough, even in the UK. Our winters may be damp, but it doesn't take many dry days in spring and summer for the effects to start showing up in a limp and listless garden. With that in mind, our trained staff will be happy to inform, guide and educate on the best irrigation systems for your gardening needs. We can guide you through the set-up process of micro-drip irrigation systems, which provide consistent hydration and are ideal for large gardens.
Imagine turning a corner in your garden and chancing upon a handsome classical statue, or brushing away the leafy undergrowth to reveal a reclining Buddha. Garden ornaments and water features can add real personality and originality to gardens of any size. So why not create some intrigue and a focal point for your garden with our delightful stone, marble effect or resin ornaments? A classic ornament or statue can provide a talking point when entertaining guests, and our new Da Vinci statues can bring a hint of the Mediterranean to any garden.
All gardens need a bit of tender, loving care if you want them to look their best, and there is a tool for every project and a product for every job in our Garden Care department. Whether you're planning to remodel your garden, replace a worn out fence panel, or just need the basics to keep your lawn and plants healthy and happy, you'll find it at Burston Garden Centre. We offer extensive ranges of quality paving, fencing, compost, chemicals, fertilisers, gardening gloves, footwear, gardening tools, seeds, watering systems, machinery, pots, garden lightingandornaments, and a lot more besides.
If your garden is less an uber-sized oasis and more a pint-sized patio - you can still branch out and enjoy the beauty of a tree outside your home. Colourful blossom, fruit and foliage can bring a small space to life and that is why ornamental trees are best for a small garden. Here at Burston we have a large and leafy range of shrubs and self-fertile trees to please every taste and need. As the average British garden shrinks in size we have transformed our collection to include ornamental and miniature fruit trees.
We're proud to have been awarded the Garden Centre of Excellence award by The GCA (Garden Centre Association) for 2018/19. We are pleased to announce that we are one of the ‘Top Ten Garden Centres' in the country for the third year in a row! We have now moved up to third place in the table. The GCA (Garden Centre Association) of which we are a member, has over 200 garden centre members UK wide. The GCA conduct comprehensive standards inspections every year with the aim to improving and maintaining the standard of service that customers can expect.

Burston has been a member of theGCA (Garden Centre Association)for over 10 years. As a member of the GCA our customers are assured that we have very high standards and will always give excellent customer service, top quality plants, inspirational displays and professional information. To keep up the high standards each member is assessed and inspected every year.
Our magnificent selection of water features ranges from small self-contained features through to large centre piece fountains. With natural stone feature kits and drilled stone monoliths and cobbles, we are sure we have the water feature for you. With simple installation of just adding water and flicking a switch, you can easily add moving water and life to your garden. For your convenience, all features are on display at our centre so you can see the working product before you buy, and we can organise for all purchases to be delivered to your door.
A lovely garden centre with THE most helpful staff. Excellent restaurant too with again, super staff. I can highly recommend their afternoon cream tea.
First class afternoon tea for special occasion. I've been elsewhere at double the price and not had such good food and service. Well done restaurant staff! That we could meander round the garden centre afterwards made it twice as pleasurable.
To my mind you get the best service of any other garden centre that I have visited by a long way. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the plants look healthy and well looked after. Good place to have a coffee and a butty as well.
When the weather is like this we wonder if we'll be able to open up the kids sandpit when the sun has some warmth and the world is a safer place
Some fantastically priced plants can be found here at Burston at the moment. These "early bird" perennials are just 4 each or 3 for 10
Sweet Peas. These beautiful climbing plants may only last one year, but they produce the most fragrant flowers that are perfect for cutting
