Our team's expertise and experience, combined with our state-of-the-art equipment, delivers excellent results every time. We use the latest Hummel sanding equipment, which reduces dust by 96%, for a perfect finish. All equipment is checked before each job to ensure that the levelling wheels are adjusted evenly and that the machine is properly balanced. Reclaimed, or recycled, wood is yet another wood flooring option. Most of this wood is oak, pine, pitch pine or maple, and can be obtained in various widths, thicknesses, colours and condition.

Today it is easier than ever to maintain a hardwood floor. Factory finished floors are sealed with either several layers of lacquer, oil or a wax finish. When necessary, a general clean of floors which have non-waxed polyurethane or a similar surface finish will keep your floor clean and stain free. A waxed floor that is properly maintained, depending on the traffic, may only need waxing once or twice a year. Your hardwood floor will change over time, becoming more mellow with age, adding warmth and beauty to your home.

Laminate is a very practical type of flooring, giving a quality look and feel at an affordable price. Laminate comprises a number of layers of fibreboard and paper with a top layer featuring an image of wooden flooring. This top layer is coated with a special treatment to make it extremely hard-wearing. SmartWood's fitters are expert in installing QuickStep laminate flooring, ensuring that your new floor is fitted perfectly. QuickStep also offer a range of door profiles, skirting boards and scotia beading to match your new flooring and provide those all-important finishing touches.
