Once considered the most prized flooring option, solid wood flooring is usually simply referred to as solid flooring and is comprised of real, natural wood. Solid wood floor is a pure form of hardwood flooring made of a single piece of hardwood timber and, due to its solid wood nature, it is strong and able to withstand heavy foot traffic when properly cared for. Sometimes also referred to as real wood flooring, solid wood is by nature less stable than Engineered Wood Flooring, but provides an authentic aesthetic as it moves more than engineered wood floor and generates natural gaps and cracks over time.
