The Colour Flooring

The Colour Flooring Company was set up by Lena Corner and Bill Tuckey, two journalists who met while working at the Independent on Sunday. We discovered that we both had the same problem when it came to sourcing flooring. It seemed impossible to find a range of affordable, contemporary block-colour vinyl flooring without flecks, marbling and other terrifyingly dated styles in between. That's what inspired us to launch The Colour Flooring Company, a London-based online business offering a gorgeous palette of colours in sheet vinyl.

Cork flooring for the 21st century, simple to fit and super sustainable. Wesell two different types. Our Classic Cork is suitable for domestic and light commercial projects and comes with a 10-year guarantee. Our new Corka range is waterproof (great for bathrooms) and suitable for both domestic and heavy commercial projects. It comes with a 15-year domestic guarantee. Corka comes in longer, thinner planks with a 'microbevel'giving a subtle delineation between planks. Our Classic corks offer a flat, unbevelled finish.

Our rubber flooring's innovative surface treatment enhances its hardness and wear resistance. This coating ensures an easier initial cleaning, as well as daily and ordinary maintenance, because it does not require the traditional coat of polish. Always fit protective soft feet to furniture, tables and chair legs to prevent scratching. Protective feet must have a suitable size in order to spread the load on a larger surface. Special care should be taken with folding chairs to ensure their footprint is large enoughtoavoid lateral pressure causing permanent indentation.

Rubber flooring looks best when laid on a beautifully smooth sub-floor, which is easily achieved with the right preparation work. Below are guidelines for laying our rubber flooring. Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to maintain the long life and good looks of your flooring. With our cork flooring this is easily achieved: simply sweep or Hoover regularly and then wash your floor, using a damp cloth or well-wrung mop. It is important not to use excessive amounts of water. Dirt or grit can cause scratching on any floor surface, so for daily maintenance, you can also use an antistatic dust sweeper. Take care to wipe up any spillages, spots or marks as quickly as possible.

Okofloor's durable wear layer means it is simple and to clean and maintain. In light domestic settings, it may be enough to simply sweep or Hoover regularly and then wash your floor with a damp cloth or mop. Always use a door mat near external doors. After floor laying is completed, lay protective sheets on the floor covering to avoid unnecessary damage by heavy equipment, furniture, or any other work that will be completed after the floor installation. Please check any new cleaning agents on a small test patch of the floor in an inconspicuous area, and avoid using harsh abrasive cleaners, organic solvent-based detergents or alcohol/ammonia-based cleaning products including bleach.
