Our mission today is as simple as it was when we first launched way back in 1957 selling carpets from our garage: to celebrate great brands and sell them at a great price. Six decades later, and after several generations of the Bird family, we're still here by the sea in Bolton-le-Sands. Still a favourite for people looking for leading furniture and quality flooring and carpet brands. Not to mention style, quality and value. It all began in 1957 with founder Michael Jeffrey Bird, a trained upholsterer. He started selling carpets from his garage at home. Together, Jeff and his wife Marina worked long hard hours, hand-sewing every carpet before it could be fitted. It was Jeff and Marina's commitment to good old customer service and competitive prices that made them a household name. And pretty soon they were able to open a couple of shops in Morecambe.
