Vastern Timber is the UK's largest and most established hardwood sawmill and has been manufacturing British Timber Products, all from locally grown timber, for over 100 years. From British logs cut in our own sawmills we offer an extensive range of sawn hardwoods for joinery and furniture making, as well as oak beams, timber cladding and hardwood flooring for commercial and residential buildings.

However if you are laying your floor over under floor heating, or you are interested in a wider range of finishes, then we offer a range of European made engineered oak flooring.

Made by applying clever technology to British hardwoods, Brimstone is the closest thing that we have to the holy grail of timber cladding. It's virtually knot free, very durable and super stable. Air-dried oak cladding boards are dried naturally to bring the moisture content down to a level suited to external use. We offer this product either in solid random lengths or in longer finger-jointed boards at 4.0 mts. We dry sweet chestnut naturally for a year to improve the stability of the cladding boards.

We produce a choice of grades from clean to rustic and a range of width specification to suit your taste. It is now rare, but we can still source enough to offer a stunning range of solid rustic elm floors. English ash offers a light and brighter flooring option and a hardwood floor that is cheaper than oak.
