We are a home insulation specialist based in Ashford, Kent and focus solely on insulation products and services. We have access to UK Government grant schemes providing free or part funded insulation for private homes, housing associations and local authorities. We have been assessed and approved by the British Board of Agrement (BBA). The BBA is the UK's major authority offering approval and certification services to manufacturers and installers supplying the construction industry. Our cavity wall insulation installations are covered by Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency (CIGA) warranties.
Homes built before 1920 will normally have what is traditionally known as a solid wall. This type of construction does not have a cavity that can be filled and therefore an external or internal solution is required. Solid walls let through twice as much heat as cavity walls so insulating your solid walls is essential and could cut your heating costs substantially. The application of an external wall insulation system can also dramatically enhance the look of your home. A three bedroom semi-detached gas heated home could save as much as 490 on annual heating costs and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.9 tonnes.
Loft insulation removal will usually cost 500 to 750 for a 3 bed semi-detached property which includes disposal and is normally completed in under a day. You may want to turn your dusty ‘no go area' in to a usable storage space. If this is required we can remove the insulation, brush down and vacuum the loft, replace the insulation and provide boarding and a ladder! It will cost a little more but its certainly worth it!
Insulating the cavity in your home is absolutely essential if you want to save heat, reduce those ever increasing heating bills and help the environment. Cavity wall insulation prevents heat from escaping through the walls of your property and could save you up to 135 per year on your fuel bills. The installation process is very simple, hassle free and is normally completed in 2 to 3 hours. Typically the installation cost for a semi-detached house will be in the region of 800 to 1500. However, this cost could be much cheaper or even FREE* for a standard size home with an Energy Company Obligation (ECO) subsidy or Green Homes Grant Voucher.
Ventilation is one thing, draughts are something else. In a typical UK home, 20% of all heat loss is through draughts, but it's a problem that is quickly identified and easily solved. If you can feel cold air coming in around your doors and windows, it means warm air is escaping too. If your house isn't double-glazed, our draught proofing is an easy, cost-effective way to reduce your heating bills. These unobtrusive plastic strips can be fitted quickly to all windows and exterior doors. Viridian Energy Solutions (VES) can even draught proof your loft hatch and letterbox to help you save even more money from your energy bills.
Adequately insulating your loft is absolutely essential if you want to save heat, reduce those ever increasing heating bills and help the environment. The most effective way to insulate a loft requires a two stage process. Stage one is placing insulation between the rafters of the loft floor area. Stage two requires a second layer of insulation which must be cross-laid at right angles to the first layer. This will ensure there are no gaps in the insulation and the floor area is fully covered. Insulating the pitched roof within your loft space is not necessary - the aim is to keep your heat within the living areas of your home which will only be achieved by insulating the floor area using the process above.
Viridian Energy Solutions are an insulation only focused contractor with many years experience working in the new build sector and site environments. We can offer a number of insulation options for property developers including InstaFibre 34 Cavity Wall Insulation and Knauf Earthwool loft insulation. The thermal properties of 34 cavity wall insulation can be found within the BBA certifcate and is the preferred material for new build properties. Please contact us with your requirements or provide us with your tender documents for a tailored and competitive quote.
Our durable, easy-to-use aluminum loft ladders make it easy to get up and into your loft space. We can fit two or three section ladders that have interlocking sliding sections. Our delux wooden ladder option is attached to its own insulated ‘drop down' hatch and wooden lining. We will normally have to adapt the existing hatch to accommodate this product.
The Green Homes Grant Voucher Scheme provides homeowners (in England) with vouchers to help cover the cost of energy efficiency improvements to their home - such as Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation. The vouchers will normally cover the cost of two-thirds of the overall value of the insulation work, up to a maximum of 5,000 per household, leaving the homeowner with just one third of the cost to pay. As an example, if your home has cavity wall and loft insulation installed costing 4,500, you will only pay 1,500, with the Government contributing the remaining 3000.
