Our team of carpenter joiners are highly skilled in the hand craft manufacture and installation of all types of traditional wood box sash windows, wood casement windows and solid timber front doors. Established in 1987, I Foster & Sons is a family run business located in Romford on the borders of London and Essex. With 30 years of trading, I Foster & Sons has built a reputation for outstanding products and customer service and we are proud to confirm that the majority of our installations are returning customers or recommendations via our existing clientele.

We custom make two styles of timber casement windows, the first being the traditional square edge flush casement window which is hung on butt hinges and secured by stay bars and cockspur handles. The other being a stormproof casement window which is hung on friction hinges and secured by a multi point locking system. Both styles are manufactured using rebated sections and are fully draught excluded. In addition all glazing is beaded internally. All our casement windows are made to order in our workshop located in Essex by our highly skilled team of carpenters.

Our solid timber wood entrance doors, front doors & porches are custom made in our workshop by our highly skilled team of carpenters and hand crafted to the highest standard. Offering a full replacement service we are able to hand craft any design of your choice to give your home a more contemporary entrance, alternatively we are able to create a copy of your existing entrance door, allowing you to retain a traditional entrance to your home whilst enjoying the latest technology with enhanced security and energy efficiency.

Our timber box sash windows are custom made in our own workshop by our highly skilled team of carpenters. We offer our customers a full replacement service which includes new boxes, architraves and nosing. All our box sash windows are fully draught excluded and operate on a spiral balance system. We pride ourselves in our attention to detail so are happy to copy your original horn feature and arch top, alternatively we are able to produce a new design for you. Should you require glazing bars then we manufacture a 32mm bar which can accommodate a double glazed sealed unit.

Carefully handcrafted by our skilled carpenters our bespoke timber French doors and single doors are constructed to your individual requirements. Double glazed with toughened sealed units comprising of softcoat low emissive glass, warm edge spacer bar plus argon gas. We have a large selection of glass options available including various leadlights, obscure patterns, clear, coloured, acoustic sound deadening, laminated, bevelled and etched glass. Side lights and overlights can also be included in your door design.

Throughout our 30 years of producing premium timber wood windows and doors in Romford, Essex, we have continuingly invested and researched our products to give our customers traditional, energy efficient, low maintenance windows and doors. We work closely with all our timber suppliers to ensure that we source only the highest quality timber from sustainable forests within the Far East. Timber naturally enjoys excellent insulation properties. This combined with skilled craftsmanship and the latest machine technology ensures that we always produce a product that is second to none.
