Our pretty walled garden to the south of the manor house looks out on to the rolling Devon hills. It's a lovely location to hold your wedding ceremony or perhaps enjoy a few drinks and canapes before the ceremony begins. The flagstone path and patio at the top of the garden can be used for the ceremony. While the gently sloping lawn easily accommodates chairs or hay bales for guests. And our unusual modern art sculpture seats always make for a good photograph. Of course, brides can arrive through the main door and straight into the walled garden.

During the summer we throw open our doors from the swimming pool to the patio. There's nothing quite like relaxing out there on a warm, sunny afternoon with a glass of cold beer in your hand. Or why not rent a hot tub? It's great fun and the perfect way to wind down. Or you can gather round the fire pit on our main patio snuggled up under blankets, sipping bubbles and regaling stories about the night before. Both the patio areas at Ash Barton have plenty of furniture for friends and family to chill out on.

Our fully heated indoor swimming pool is the first place the kids head to when they arrive. And adults love Ash Barton's swimming pooltoo as it gives you an opportunity to relax and unwind after a long drive or a weekend of partying. The pool is lovely in the summer when we pull back the doors to the patio and you can enjoy the warm, seasonal breeze, as well as the spectacular views of the North Devon hills in the distance. It practically feels like an outdoor pool. During the cooler months, our heated pool is really popular as there's nothing quite like splashing about in warm water when it's nippy outside.

After a fabulous day of celebrations, a night of dancing or some serious fun in the games barn, it's nice to know you're only a few steps away from a comfy bed with crisp cotton linen. With 12/13 bedrooms, Ash Barton is big enough to sleep 35+ guests comfortably, and most of the bedrooms can be arranged as doubles, twins or with bunks. There are ten modern bathrooms, all with showers and some with baths too, and each bathroom is supplied with lots of fresh white towels. And the good news? There's always stacks of unlimited hot water, no matter what time of day it is.

Whether you're getting married in our pretty old chapel or having a sit-down celebration in the big party barn, you and your guests are going to need somewhere to perch. Luckily, at Ash Barton, we have plenty of furniture available for you to use. And, what's more, it's completely free. You can decorate your furniture however you like. Many of our weddings use high quality white paper party roll for the tables and then decorate them with candles or wooden hearts. Others have used hessian style table cloths for the table and finished them off with vases of pretty flowers from our wildflower meadow.

Here we keep all the wood for the log burners in the house, as well as firewood for the firepit on the patio. Help yourself to whatever you need and get those marshmallows toasting.

Come rain or shine, there's something truly magical about The Ash Barton estate. We're surrounded by 25 acres of woodland, fields, gardens, wildflower meadows and lakes, and we also have a walled garden, a large open courtyard and a romantic old chapel. Our grounds are heaven for keen walkers and casual strollers, and the views over the North Devon countryside are simply spectacular. Our wildflower meadow, in particular, makes any wedding photos picture perfect.
