In 2016 I introduced a range of quality dressmaking fabrics and haberdashery for your projects, available to purchase in the shop. Material Moves is owned by Carol Eves, the the tutor of all classes and workshops at the sewing studio. I have just completed a dress making course, prior to this l thought I could sew how wrong I was! Carol is the most amazing teacher her knowledge and ability to pass it on at a level anyone can understand is brilliant. Starting with a some basic sewing experience, I attended my first class - a bag making workshop which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Brilliant workshop today, learning how to make a pattern fit - to really fit real people! So helpful, informative and practical. Really inspired me to try sewing something more adventurous than usual! Great selection of fabrics too
What a fab few days sewing for a 7 year old! Erin was made to feel immediately at home and loved the sewing machine lesson and experience. I'm sure we'll be back regularly!

More cosy boiled wool featured this Friday. Warm ice colours (if there is such a thing) This is a lighter weight viscose and wool mix, it still has the gorgeous texture, but more suitable for tops, sweater dresses & cardigans. Its also washable, so childreswear can't be ruled out 135cm wide.
