If you have a rented property that contains a gas supply within it, you must by law have a landlord's gas safety inspection carried out every twelve months, to prove the safety of gas appliances. You should have your gas appliances service every twelve months to maintain their safety and efficiency. If you think you can smell gas, Transco engineers will attend to your property free of charge if you ring them on 0800 111 999. They will confirm whether or not you have a gas leak and will only then make safe once a gas leak is found.
