We are a family run firm, small enough to care but agile enough to take on larger projects such as our recent completion of a 440m2 parquet floor installation. We started our business in 1995 after recognizing that there was an increasing demand for expert floor Restoration services in the UK. With our in depth floor restoration knowledge accumulated over 20 years you can be assured of the best advice; there are aspects of our trade that take years to learn which cannot just be deemed after a few days training!
We only use our purposely designed equipment for the sanding and preparation stage whereby a very exacting amount of the laminate wood surface is removed by the process thereby retaining the integrity of the wood and avoiding the risk of sanding through the thin layer of laminate and exposing the hardboard backing.
Just to say that your firm have done a thoroughly brilliant and most professional job. I am so thrilled with the result; the floor looks so lovely, that I now don't really want to put the furniture back into the room! Here are just a few examples of our work - after 20 years spent restoring and refinishing floors we have accumulated a vast knowledge base and library of photographs showing the results of our work.
Here are just a few examples of our work - after 20 years spent restoring and refinishing old pine floors we have accumulated a vast knowledge base and library of photographs showing the results of our work. We have many more examples of restored period pine floors that we are able to send you and we are often able to provide you with a very close example of your own floor! Previously badly sanded and scratched pine floor; the customer had attempted a DIY approach to sand and varnish the floor themselves; we do not recommend this!
Based upon our experience and after listening to feed back from our customers - some of whom have already had an oil/wax finish we have drawn the conclusion that lacquer normally provides the best finishing choice. Our opinions are based on the fact that oil/wax requires frequent re coating, and sometimes machine polishing. Depending on the amount of foot traffic and type of use your floor will be subjected to a properly prepared Lacquered floor can last for up to 8 years without the need to recoat (which is simple to do without the need to 'deep sand' the floor again) whereas oil wax may only last a few years before it becomes contaminated especially in high use areas and will need deep sanding and re oiling again.
