The stonemasonry trade has existed for thousands of years - ever since humans discovered they could shape stone. We can't say we've been around quite that long, but for almost 100 years we have been providing stone masonry and traditional construction services in Northamptonshire and its surrounding counties. As experts in stone, with nearly a century's experience under our belts, we provide a wide range of services, always completed to the highest standard with exquisite attention to detail. Underwood and Weston has been established in Northampton for over 90 years as a local and regional building contractor. We provide a specialist stone masonry service and a traditional building construction capability to clients in both the private and public sectors. Originally founded as a stone masonry company it specialised in the conservation and stone restoration of listed buildings and the sensitive repair of churches and historical monuments including stone cleaning techniques. The company has become established in the Midlands and Home Counties of Buckinghamshire, Leicestershire, Oxfordshire and Bedfordshire.

At Underwood and Weston we are specialists in working on sensitive conservation and restoration projects. These projects are generally on listed buildings and so require a great deal of specialist knowledge and sensitivity. We can work for main contractors, developers or simply for the general public. It's essential that all projects for churches and listed buildings are completed to the very highest standards to make sure that we comply with procedures set out by English Heritage. To begin the project, we'll come to conduct a survey of the existing building and provide you with a historical masonry report that will detail our recommendations.
