My work over the last 32 years has all been done to the original British Standards specifications. Firstly we push back the bottom row of tiles, at this point we fit a new strip of felt as the original felt will have almost certainly rotted away. The job of the felt is to ensure the rainwater comes off the bottom row if tiles and feeds it straight into the gutters. Now remove the existing timber fascias. These are replaced with a new solid treated kiln dried backing board, pressure treated to British Standard 5589.

New shiplap cladding can now be installed. This must be solid shiplap, BEWARE, there is some hollow cladding on the market but this must only be used internally. The shiplap comes in a number of different colours and can make a massive difference to the look of your property.
