This photograph was taken by our chimney sweep before the chimney had been swept. It shows a typical domestic flue from a 1930's house in Romford, Essex. This chimney flue is of brick construction and standard in size, 9" x 9" (the length of an imperial sized brick). This shot is taken from just within the fireplace opening and if you look closely to the right side of the brick gather and further up the flue you can see initial decay of the original chimney flue lining (often referred to as parging).
When installing a wood burning stove in your home it is of paramount importance to use a HETAS registered company. Our HETAS approved wood burning stove installers have a vast knowledge in the installation of solid fuel heating equipment and the expertise required to install these appliances in all areas of your home. We regularly deal with a wide variety of installations, from standard wood burning stove installations into an existing fireplace opening, including the relining of your chimney flue, right through to the more complicated installations.
When you ask us to install a new chimney lining, we take a flexible, stainless steel tube and run it from the top of your chimney to the fireplace gather or directly to the solid fuel appliance. The new chimney lining will remain invisible whilst offering the best protection possible for your chimney. Relining your chimney is simple, safe and will last a lot longer than ordinary bricks and mortar. If you have a problem with your current chimney lining, or you want a new stainless steel chimney liner installed, then you have come to the right place.
Rope access or abseiling equipment is used in many of our working-at-height contracts. At Allchimneys, all of our employees are I.R.A.T.A (industrial rope access trade association) trained and each hold CSCS NVQ diplomas in Accessing Operations and rigging (construction). Fall restraint methods are often used when accessing roofs or chimneys and are also used when installing lightning protection or permanent fall arrest systems. We also use similar methods on all works where we have identified a risk of falling from height.
