We are a dedicated, award-winning team of architects in South Wales. As well as residential architects we have commercial and industrial expertise. Darkin Architects provide a quality certified service refined through ongoing customer feedback to ensure the best experience. Regular team training and implementation of innovative technologies and ideas keeps us ahead of the curve.
A construction contract is beneficial to both the client and the contractor. It sets out the terms of the contract such as the cost and completion date and what happens when these need to change or aren't achieved. The contracts have as much or as little details as necessary for the size of the project. For example, a contract for a small kitchen extension won't need to be as detailed as the contract used to build a new school. Unlike most of our services, we are unable to provide a fixed cost. This is because the amount of works we undertake vary depending on how the contract progresses.
Darkin Architects can prepare and submit a planning appeal on your behalf, Call us now for a free, no obligation consultation. Are you worried about what your neighbours are up to? Concerned they may block your light or spoil the view with some carbuncle of an extension? Darkin Architects have experience in representing the interests of neighbours to planning applications. We can provide you with guidance and support and, where necessary, help you to object to the application via the planning system.
Are you interested in supplying products or services to Darkin Architects or our customers? After validation, your application will be considered by us and you will be informed of the outcome within 10 working days. Should we anticipate the process taking any longer, we will write to you within those 10 working days to let you know our decision date. Admission to the list is entirely at the discretion of Darkin Architects. We will consider your application based on supporting evidence and previous working history if applicable.
Darkin Architects have a proven track record in Building Regulations Applications and Compliance and can help you make sure that your build complies with Building Regulations. Since 31 December 2011 the Welsh Government has had responsibility for the building regulations in Wales. The Welsh Government has indicated that it intends to prioritise sustainability. Darkin Architects are fully up-to-date with the Building Regulations in Wales and can give you the right advice for your project. Darkin Architects work with the Local Authority and with private building control inspectors and can advise you on the right choice for your project.
Darkin Architects provide the full range of architectural services from stages 0-7 of the RIBA Plan of Work.
Every year, Darkin Architects welcome pupils from many different schools. We offer a structured work experience programme that ensures that pupils get a real sense of the day-to-day role of an architect and where possible, we will take students to visit a building site.
Darkin Architects have been awarded the Chwarae Teg Exemplar Employer Award©. It is awarded to businesses to recognise areas of good diversity practice and to provide a framework from which to target business improvements. The Chwarae Teg Exemplar Employer Award© is based on an on-line Business Culture Survey© completed by a business' employees that assesses their views of the actual diversity practices within the business. It is supported by evidence gathering around actual business, management and procedures practice.
