Macemain + Amstad is a long standing British Company specialising in the design and manufacture of architectural structures. Since our beginning in 1972, Macemain + Amstad has grown to become one of the leading designers and manufacturers of contemporary architectural structures and street furniture in the UK. Core to our business is a proven ability to design, manufacture, install and maintain standard and bespoke design quality passenger transport infrastructure to the rail industry, airport authorities, passenger transport executives and local authorities.
Macemain + Amstad can utilise solar power within any of its products. The principals behind solar power are that photovoltaic cells are used to convert light from the sun directly into electricity. This electricity is used to illuminate light emitting diodes (LED) and to charge a battery system which provides power to the LED system in hours of darkness. LED's are employed as they utilise 75% less power than conventional fluorescent lighting. In general one cluster of LED lights is provided for each shelter bay.
Our products can be provided with a variety of lighting options that all achieve an average of +60lux. To provide 3 Devizes bus shelters and a cycle enclosure within the Bath University campus.
Within each walkway system there is a wide choice of options and configurations covering spans, roof shapes, structural posts, glazing, services and accessories. Our bespoke design service is available to clients for non-standard and special covered walkways and glass walkways. A covered walkway can also be used proactively by operational management teams to control the movement of people i.e. people boarding air planes at terminals. Macemain + Amstad were appointed to design, manufacture and install a number of Paragon glazed walkways 260m long x 4m wide and 120m long x 3m wide (over four phases) and a beposke cycle enclosure.
Macemain + Amstad have four experienced and established site crews including a dedicated groundworks crew. Site specific method statement and risk assessment subject to client approval prior to the commencement of installation works.
