Since 2009 we have been helping self-builders design their dream homes. We have worked on over 350 projects across the UK, including small extensions, one-off homes and large housing developments. All of our low energy eco homes are built around the Fabric first approach, utilising modern methods of construction such as Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), Timber Frame and Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF). In the summer of 2009 RIBA Chartered Architect Allan Corfield set up Allan Corfield Architects (ACA). ACA's aim was to provide a client focused personal service, which responded to the then current financial and environmental situation. Since then, the RIBA Chartered Practice has grown into a team of talented architects, technicians and support staff, who have worked on over 300 projects. At ACA, we provide a tailored service to suit our clients' needs. Each project differs as each client has their own individual requirements; therefore, developing a close working relationship with our clients is paramount to successfully achieving their Self Build dream.

We have now decided to go further and are launching our online design consultations. These remote services will support you at the early stages of your Self Build journey, ensuring that you will use this time effectively and will be ready to move on after lockdown. In considering a self-build project, internet research led me to AC Architects & their excellent free resources, including the ‘Introduction to Self Building' ebook which is packed with useful guidance & information. The next logical step was to take up their free initial consultation service to discuss my ideas for the project & also address a number of questions I had.
