Our friendly, talented, and attractive team offer professional consultancy in all aspects of Landscape Design, Landscape Assessment and 3D Visualisation, across the UK. 2B Landscape Consultancy Ltd is an LI Registered Practice of Chartered Landscape Architects, based in Yorkshire. Established in 1998, our wide variety of high quality projects ranges from large-scale LVIA to detail design, through masterplanning, sustainable drainage, community engagement, and everything in between. For those who haven't come across Landscape Architecture before, think of it this way: as Architects are to buildings, so Landscape Architects are to the landscape or external environment.
2B Landscape Consultancy was formed in early 1998. Our principal business object is not growth, but stability. As well as the core team of talented and attractive staff, we work with numerous professional colleagues. Depending on the project requirements, we can bring on board planners, architects, arborists, ecologists, environmental managers, engineers and other disciplines, to provide a complete range of design and environmental services for our clients. We focus mainly on working locally and regionally whenever possible, for reasons of both sustainability and competitiveness, although we have worked on projects across the UK.
This year we have been backing the Landscape Institute's #chooselandscape campaign. Choose Landscape aims to encourage young people to start in, and older people to convert to, the landscape profession. Using the key phrases 'Connect people, Transform places, Protect nature' - who wouldn't want to be part of our great profession? Coo, what is a SuDS retrofit exemplar? Well, SuDS = Sustainable Drainage Systems and retrofit means it wasn't originally designed this way, but now it is! Slow the Flow, of which Amanda is a founder member, just keeps going from strength to strength.
Landscape design is unique amongst the design disciplines, in that it requires a deep understanding of living elements and their effect in the fourth dimension - time. We often say that our landscapes look at their least impressive when they are new, but will mature into something beautiful over time. An architect usually has precisely the opposite concern - buildings look great on day one and go downhill from there! Of course, it is not as simple as that, and long-term management and day-to-day maintenance have a vital role to play in ensuring the successful establishment of any design scheme over time.
Although this page uses techniques already discussed on some of the preceding visualisation pages, we consider that it merits its own space due to the particular characteristics of wind and solar power. Apart from size and form, the single most obvious characteristic of wind turbines is the rotation of their blades. Static methods of representing turbines do not communicate this particular characteristic of continuous movement. Most windfarm visualisations are presented in print, for the purpose of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) for EIA and Public Inquiry.
They are your personal landscape and outdoor living space, so they should respond to your desires, personality and the uses you demand of them. To fully understand your requirements, we recommend that we make an initial visit (for a fee of 50/hour plus mileage) when we can discuss your garden wishes and make some initial suggestions. After that we will prepare a fee proposal, to set out options such as sketch designs, visuals, and construction details. Having a well-designed and accessible outdoor space will bring you happiness, health and profit in the long term and deserves as much investment as any indoor room.
