The Entrance porch should be a welcoming shelter for visitors, protection from wind and rain and an attractive focal point on a property. Our clients often refer to our portfolio of previous porches to arrive at a chosen design. Our porches are often complex little structures which include many of the same features hthat would be found in a much larger Oak framed building. These can include, trusses, purlins, Oak rafters, Oak sarking boards, glazing and render panels. When designing porches, careful site surveys are essential.
Following discussions with clients about their project, a 3d representation can be drawn to clarify the design. This drawing, along with measurements collected from a site survey, can be used to draw the scaled carpentry drawings. If the project is subject to Building Regulations, Structural Engineering calculations will be required and the carpentry drawings provide a detailed dimensional reference. The process of visualisini the design not only provides a visual reference for the client, It allows the team to reproduce with precise accuracy the details as drawn and start to think through the process of assembly.
Projects often require planning permission - Greenwood Oak can advise on the necessity for permission and the exemptions the exist. A number of projects such as garages can be built under permitted development, Greenwood Oak can provide guidance with permitted developments precise definition.
