Robert Hutson Architects is an architectural partnership practicing from the village of East Hanningfield in Essex. The Practice was formed in 1982 and has grown steadily since inception. We initially established our reputation in the design of significant houses for individual clients. Our client list contains blue chip companies and significant institutions. In the University sector, we have undertaken commissions for six Universities in London and the South East of England. In the field of Performing Arts, we have carried out projects for The Really Useful Theatre Group, who own and operate 16 London Theatres in significant listed buildings.
As an Architect, I have always believed that design does not stop with the external fabric, but carries on through to the total environment; this includes furniture design. This philosophy was practiced in its most perfect sense on my own house, where having designed and constructed the house, I then moved on to design and make, many of the pieces of furniture. This philosophy is based upon a confidence, which says we do not just have to buy off the shelf products, but can develop and produce bespoke items for our clients and ourselves.
