Horizon Design Ltd is a small architectural practice based in Worthing, West Sussex and serving East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire. We specialise in the detailed design of buildings from small-scale residential and commercial developments to domestic and commercial extensions, alterations and loft conversions. We firmly believe in spending time and effort, and using our expertise in making sure that our designs are accurate, detailed and well thought-out. This means that once we have completed the design of your building, extension or alteration, your building contractor will know exactly what they've got to price for, what they've got to build and how, and you have the confidence that what has been shown on our plans will work out in reality.

Here are before and after pictures of a house in Storrington, West Sussex which has recently been completed. A significant amount of work was carried out in order to transform it from a modest three-bedroom chalet bungalow which was in need of attention, into a spacious five-bedroom, three-bathroom family house with a large additional reception room, additional utility room, light and spacious hallway and landing with feature staircase. Horizon Design Ltd designed the extensions and alterations, obtained planning permission and approval under the building regulations, ready to hand over to the client to obtain quotes and arrange the construction work.

Here you can see ‘before and after' pictures of a site in Findon Valley, Worthing which had an over-grown, under-utilised garden which appeared to present a development opportunity. We designed a three-bedroom house to attach to the end ofthis local shoppingparade, at the same time improving the appearance of this street corner and closing off an unattractive view along the rear of the shops. This project also included extensionand improvement of the existing flat abovethe shop, also adding a new front door and storm porch.

Converting the space in your loft into ‘habitable' rooms can be the best way to add bedrooms and bathrooms to your house, without having to leave the house you love, and at the best price. This can not only add valuable space if your family is expanding or the children are getting too old to share, but also adding a bedroom can be the easiest way to take your house up to the next rung of the ladder in terms of value. A loft conversion can make a huge difference to the space in your house, often presenting the opportunity to bring lots of natural light into your landing or centre of the house.
