A carpenter is defined as a person skilled in woodwork, especially of a structural kind. To do the job well the carpenter should be precise and methodical. This is the approach I take and I have found it to be the surest way of consistently producing the best results. Carpentry and joinery are not mutually exclusive; to be able to do one well you need to be able to do both well. There are times when fixing timber together with screws or nails is appropriate, but there are times when something more subtle is required and the ability to use traditional joinery methods is an essential element of a carpenters skill set.

Timber is a fundamental element within many buildings both structurally and aesthetically. When converting an old, dilapidated building into something spectacular high standards of carpentry and joinery are essential. Andy built our large conservatory to a rather complex one-off architectural design, unfortunately there were errors in the design of the roof and Andy had to change the details in order to remedy the problem. The result is a conservatory which is a great success and has become the centre of our home life.

When renovating and refurbishing properties each project presents its own unique set of challenges, whether forming repairs to existing structures or creating something new the carpentry and joinery skills required are at my finger tips. Andy co-ordinated everyone on site, ensuring that every trade worked efficiently and safely. With Andy in charge the building of our children's centre progressed at an incredible rate. Any problems that arose were dealt with professionally and efficiently, construction became the easiest stage of the project.
