Andrew Petty Architects were asked to prepare design options for the potential, future conversion of a barn in the grounds of a family home. The conversion would provide a generous new annex for the current owners to move to when retired. The proposal shown is for a conversion on one level with living accommodation arranged around a central, double height library and hall/reception. Glazed walls would afford views of the garden and surrounding landscape, with moveable shutters providing shade, privacy or security.
Our client had planning permission for a new home when APA were approached. We gave the house a creative design overhaul to drastically improve the appearance and layout of the dwelling in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The elegant new design has been approved by the local authority and we are now carrying out the technical design of the house which is to be energy efficient with a timber framed structure, highly insulated and airtight.
Does anyone know of a good alternative #brick to Marziale by @wienerbergeruk which sadly is not available at the mo… https://t.co/qlVOUhN0y0
