To fulfil our customers expectations and requirements through the provision of our diverse range of cast stone (cementious) architectural products, within a creative and united working environment. Thorverton Stone Company was established in 1990 to specialise in the manufacture of bespoke architecturally designed cast stone, and more standard items of concrete mouldings. Our client base has grown considerably over the years and includes companies from all sectors of the building industry, as well as individual customers.

Our door surrounds consist of a head, and side jambs. The jambs can be made from quoin stones or in a more traditional style. The door frame then sits inside the stone surround. Our cast stone door surrounds may be used both inside and outside a property, with the stonework seen on one or both sides of the opening. Our door surrounds give strength, security and originality to any building. Standard designs - we have four standard designs to choose from with the section detail following right around the surround.

Our speciality is manufacturing cast stone products that meet our customer's dimensional requirements. We understand that many houses often have a variety of different sized windows or doors that don't match today's standard dimensions. We know that your garden walls probably aren't measured to match a standard length of coping and that your gate piers are built to look good, not because you could only find a particular size of pier cap. We manufacture a range of fireplaces and can even adjust the sizes of most of them to fit your openings.

Choose from our standard single-skin design where the cast stone is seen externally only, or our more thermally efficient double-skin surround where the stonework is seen both externally & internally. See below for more details. Thorverton Stone window surrounds include a combination of cills, jambs, heads, mullions, transoms and label moulding. Mullions and transoms will only be used if the window is a multi light and multi pane window e.g. We have a standard pattern of window surround of a traditional design seen throughout the country as well as offering a bespoke service to replicate existing styles you may already have.

Balustrading is decorative stonework to be used in many places around a building or landscape. From roof tops to portico tops or patio edges to garden steps. Our stone balustrading is a value-adding item enhancing the appearance of your property. Thorverton Stone Balustrading is made up of several pieces of cast stone. The baluster, or bottle, is the upright piece, which stands on the plinth stone underneath. The baluster is then topped with a coping stone to finish off. A pier, (square upright stone) will be required at given intervals for visual impact and strength, which will be topped by a pier cap.
