Peter Ireland, who set up VOID:Projects and leads its architectural work, has been a practising architect for over 30 years, so we have plenty of experience to call on. VOID is a small architectural practice based in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, with wide experience in solving problems, tailored to our clients individual needs. Equally at home with house extensions, alterations, or even whole houses, we are also happy to work with new or historic buildings, with industrial, commercial, or public building projects.

A '30's thatched cottage in a Cotswold village - the project was to extend the kitchen and bedroom, and rationalise the bathrooms. The final scheme combined a thatched extension with a monopitch green roof. Built in 1830, converted, repeatedly extended; Arts & Crafts meets Georgian & Gothick. The aim: to retain the character whilst bringing it up to date, using copper, cedar, polished plaster, slate, marble, pitch pine & bamboo. In the heart of the Cotswolds, with a spectacular view. An unremarkable 1960's bungalow, we obtained planning permission for a complete remodelling, extending the house substantially, adding another floor.

We can help advise you whether you are planning work near your boundary, or if you have received notice from your neighbours. We have a lot of experience carefully tailoring solutions for our clients, from the integrated fabric ceilings, heat and light shown at Lakeland, to solar shading, ventilation and daylighting systems. At Spirax, we specified the first installation of an innovative phase change cooling system. We can provide you with simple analysis of our proposals, sun and daylight studies, to give you an early idea of your carbon footprint and to help optimise our designs.
