David Stephenson is a Hampshire based furniture designer-maker, specialising in designing and creating unique pieces of bespoke handcrafted freestanding furniture. Using sustainably sourced timber combined with traditional craftsmanship each piece of furniture is made to be used and designed to last! David also offers one to one woodworking and furniture making courses & tuition. With a growing selection of one and two day courses perfect for those wishing to take their first steps exploring the world of woodworking.
Today there is a huge amount of mass produced furniture available off the shelf, why not have something totally unique, original and made to last for generations? From simple, functional utility items through to fine pieces of statement furniture. Commissioning a piece of bespoke furniture is a unique chance for you to create a fusion of your own ideas with a designer-maker's expertise and individual style, resulting in the creation of a beautiful, personal object, designed for purpose and matching the precise needs of you, the client.
Really love every product David has made for me, my cheese board is defiantly my favourite highly recommend his service and work.
Had a fantastic weekend with David on an intensive carpentry course. He really put in the extra time and effort for me to complete my rather ambitious plans. I would highly recommend a weekends tuition. I have learnt a lot and have a beautiful desk that will last me forever to show for it! Thank you David!

A bit of machine maintenance today, I noticed pieces weren't coming out of the thicknesser completely square so I spent some time checking and realigning the knife holders (it's a self setting cutting block system so this is pretty rare). Now it's spot on again! #makermonday
Making up workbench legs this afternoon, each leg is made up of two pieces laminated together. Left in the clamps over night so they will be rock hard and ready for final machining in the morning! #makermonday
