We have been established since spring 2005 before which our director Andrew completed 7½ years at a large landscaping firm in York and qualifications in Garden Design at Askham Bryan College. Our aim is to create innovative and interesting outdoor spaces following an initial site consultation and discussing the clients brief. Whether it be a small courtyard or vast space, we can design and landscape your garden to the highest standard using the best materials available. We have recently joined the Marshalls registered installers list, a group of landscapers who are selected for their outstanding quality of workmanship.

Andrew, our Director successfully completed a 1 year design course at Askham Bryan College gaining a CERT Garden Design qualification. Andrew is our head designer and would oversee all design projects but Katy who has a BA in Art and Design and Paul can also confidently design a perfect garden. We look at every project with fresh ideas and aim to create an individual concept to achieve a unique look to your outside space. All our designs are hand drawn, giving a personal touch to our work. Patios and paving are one of the main starting points when designing a garden. A well designed patio, whether it be positioned directly outside the house or as a sun spot at the end of the garden creates an initial shape and outline. At Waterdale Landscapes we will discuss your requirements and recommend the best type and style of materials to suit your garden and brief. We personally ensure that every patio or path is constructed to the highest standard and that the quality of our workmanship is hard to match.

We are very lucky being based in York as we have three of the major UK turf suppliers on our doorstep. Depending on the quality of turf you require and how often you wish to spend time cutting your lawn we can recommend and supply the correct grade for your needs. Anything from an amenity lawn which is used regularly by your family to play on or something more ornamental that you wish to keep like a bowling green we can supply and lay the perfect lawn for you. We even supply and lay artificial lawns for those of you who just wish to sit back and relax in your garden rather than spending your spare time working in it.

Water can help to create a relaxing environment. Wether it be a simple bubbling water feature or a feature pond with fascinating koi carp exploring their surroundings, at Waterdale landscapes we have the expertise to construct an interesting focal point for your garden. Water features are relatively simple to construct. A small reservoir is dug into the ground and covered using a supporting galvanised metal grill. A recirculating submersible pump is placed into the reservoir and connected to an electricity supply.

Decking is often used in gardens where the ground slopes. It is generally a less expensive alternative in situations where retaining walls and infill is required to create a level seating or patio area in your garden. All our decking is constructed using treated timber with any supporting posts fixed into the ground within concrete footings. We can offer different grades of deck boards, ranging from softwood, hardwood and decking which is made from composite materials. Softwood is the most widely used but depending on your requirements we can tailor your decking area to your specific needs.

In recent years at Waterdale Landscapes we have worked alongside a personal friend and property developer to help construct new houses and renovate old properties. By combining our expertise we are able to offer a full package from concept to completion. Meaning we can extend your property and then finish the surrounding gardens rather than leaving your project with that unfinished feel. Fencing doesn't just have to be standard larch lap panels. At Waterdale Landscapes we can create a new boundary fence using a variety of different panels, boards or trellis work to suit your personal taste. We can either construct a new fence on site using individual pieces of timber or buy in a specific panel type. We concrete all of our posts into the ground to give a solid support in the highest of winds and all the timber we use is fully treated giving you peace of mind that our fences will stand the test of time.

Driveways are an important part of anyone's property. A driveway can change the look of the front of your house turning it into a smart inviting home. At Waterdale Landscapes we will arrange a meeting to discuss your needs. You may already know or have seen a product or style that you like so we will take you through the process and provide you with an estimate. The key to a good driveway is not always about what you see on the surface, often it is about what is underneath and the preparation. We will excavate your driveway, to the correct depth depending on the finished surface you decide to have, using mechanical excavators and lead away all soil and rubble.

A garden structure can help to give a new dimension to your space. Gazebos and summerhouses provide a covered seating area to enable you to enjoy your garden whatever the weather.
