Rance Booth Smith Architects were appointed to design an extension to this Grade II listed church, set within Green Belt land in Arthington, near Pool in Wharfedale. Due to the restrictions and constraints of the site, a bespoke design was established for the location and for the intersection to the existing building. Through close consultation with the Leeds Conservation Department we designed a modern extension that complemented the existing building without impacting key original features of the building.
Our Interiors team use the design of interior spaces to create aesthetically pleasing and ergonomically correct environments to improve the user experience, increase productivity and enhance welfare. Where refurbishment is required we can reinvent the interior space to create the right environment. We undertake evaluation of building spaces, including storage and furniture audits and business structure analysis, all of which reduce costs, increase staffing capacity and create smarter working environments.
As chartered architects, it is our role to take a brief from our client, challenge it and develop a concept which contains the principles and aspirations of the client. Further design development ensures the design is compliant with statutory authority requirements and a package of drawn information is produced which can be tendered and used to construct the building. Our role continues throughout this construction stage to monitor progress compliance with the design principles and specification, and administer the contract.
