Project Orange is a resourceful and agile Architecture and Design Studio set up by Christopher Ash and James Soane. We believe in working collaboratively to generate purposeful and sustainable projects. In the face of the ecological crisis we are actively taking an ethical position that values resilience, innovation and society. New stories are being created.

We are unusual as a practice in placing equal importance on architecture and interior design and excel in those projects seeking a seamless marriage of the disciplines, be they homes, hotels or offices. The achievements of the studio have been recognized in RIBA Regional and National Awards, Building Design Interior Architect of the Year Awards, a Civic Trust Award, the Housing Design Awards, the British Homes Awards and The European Hotel Awards. Whilst always contemporary, our approach embraces an inclusive attitude to style and aesthetics apparent in the diversity of our built projects.

We are committed to working with our clients to deliver, on time and within budget, exemplary design led projects that exceed expectations. Architectural services may be stand alone or combined with interior design where scope permits. Project Orange is a RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) chartered practice and offers the full range of architectural services in connection with both new build and refurbishment projects. The above is only a brief summary of the architectural services offered by Project Orange.

Project Orange is a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Chartered Practice. This ensures that all accredited members work to a common set of standards and have in place: appropriate professional indemnity insurance; quality management systems; health and safety policy; employment policy addressing the principles of the RIBA policy statement on employment; a programme of continuing professional development for all staff. As architects we understand how complex the process of procurement and construction can be, irrespective of the scale of the project.

Sometimes this means working with established suppliers who are able to customise their pieces to our requirements, but mostly we are designing from scratch. We have designed rugs and carpets for hotels and private houses that range from silk geometric runners to robust hand knotted rugs. Our joinery goes beyond tables and chairs and desks and can include a one off kitchen in an apartment, a bar in a hotel or a luxury couch. We enjoy the challenge of a one-off special piece such as the sculptural bench at One New Change in London, the quirky built-in bed and desk at the Hoxton Hotel or the inlaid wooden butterflies in Monsoon Bangalore.
