From the outset, Azman Architects gained recognition as a pioneering practice, with a reputation for clean-cut, contemporary design and minimalist remodelling of period properties. Bold interventions helped them change the face of older housing to deliver contemporary living. Their first project - the refurbishment of a Grade II listed house in 1995 - was described by the National press as 'innovative and ground-breaking' and led to a series of comprehensive refurbishments across London. This included the RIBA award nominated two-storey glass extension for Isabella Blow and the RIBA and Civic Trust Award winning 'concrete house', a private home built in North London.
