Adding floor area whilst making the best use of available space and bringing natural light into the interior sums up our design philosophy on many projects. Although instinctively contemporary in style, the practice has a track record of sensitive refurbishments to period and listed properties.
The existing single aspect mews house was dark and split into a series of small rooms. The challenge in this development was to open the living space up by removing most of the internal walls, and create extra light from a new front glass extension. The front garden was re-landscaped to form an enclosed extension to the living room. We are now working for the same clients on a major refurbishment of their new house in Primrose Hill.
A house extension for a typical London terraced house in Primrose Hill, North London, offered the chance to create an extraordinary living space. Lowering the basement floor level and removing all walls created a light and open living space. A double height conservatory, complete with living wall completed the transformation. The cantilevered glass box doubles as a window and seat, allowing you to sit in the garden on even the most rainy day.
