The first time someone decided to mix sweet and salty popcorn, their guests must have been horrified. Minutes later though they would be guzzling the lot. That's the thing about new combinations - you have to be a bit odd to consider them in the first place, but when they pay off you're left wondering how you managed before they existed. Admittedly, this isn't a usual sort of About page for an architectural practice, but we're not a usual sort of practice. We believe that projects come alive through uncommon combinations of ideas and people.
As well as bringing a strong and cohesive visual identity to a space, our interiors are designed to influence behaviour and promote best use. Our designers consider layout, space planning, lighting design, colour schemes, furniture and fittings to suit each environment. Our in-house interior design studio works closely with our architects to fully integrate interior schemes from the initial stages of a project, and is also experienced in turning fit-out projects around to tight deadlines. Our interior designers bring fresh perspective to a building and are able to both complement and challenge the architecture.
We offer the full range of architectural services from design to delivery. We also provide a wide range of related services to add value and inform our architectural work, this includes urban design, interior design and working with artists.
Many Hawkins\Brown architects volunteer with primary and secondary schools, and we have a longstanding partnership with Queen Mary University's Summer School and Wymondham High School in Norfolk, teaching young people about architecture. We are RIBA Architectural Ambassadors, partnered with various schools across London. Many Hawkins\Brown architects teach and lecture on architecture at universities, including the Bartlett - University College London, University of Bath, Sheffield University, London Metropolitan University and Manchester School of Architecture.
