We are experts in integrated mixed-use urban complexes and also have a strong track record in transport-oriented design and cultural projects. We have designed award-winning buildings throughout the world for over half a century, from the refurbishment of Grade-1 listed buildings in London, the tallest building in the world by a British architect in Shenzhen through to smaller residential developments. For over fifty years, Farrells has championed place-making, the public realm and intelligent, forward-thinking masterplanning.
In practice for over 50 years in the UK and over 25 in China, our history feeds into our present. Much of Farrells earliest work in London aimed to enhance the existing urban fabric - a maverick approach at a time when wholesale demolition and redevelopment was in vogue. Our work has reflected a wide range of styles, but has been united by careful research into the context and history of a given place. Our portfolio of characterful architecture reflects context at all scales, from the "big picture" through to interiors.
Our team is central to what we do and how we approach our projects. At Farrells we have over 200 professionals working from studios in London, Manchester, Hong Kong, and Shanghai, with additional representation in Singapore and Beijing. Our team is highly cosmopolitan and multilingual, enabling us to readily serve clients around the globe. We hold diverse expertise covering all architectural sectors, urban planning and design, interior design, building information modelling (BIM), visualisation, and project management.
