James Langford architects were approached to prepare concept design proposals and full detail designs for tender. The practice provided contract administration and design lead duties on site, along with selection and procurement of office furniture, through to completion and final handover. The works included bespoke joinery and lighting displays, along with an energy efficiency upgrade to the 3 office floors and a new fresh air ventilation system. Located within an existing building in the heart of Mayfair, James Langford Architects were asked to design new UK office headquarters for Swarovski in London.
The proposals include a 7m deep basement excavation, allowing generous floor to ceiling heights and extensive accommodation set over 5 floor levels. The brief required a high level of design input, both internally and externally, to create a new family house with bespoke joinery and high level of services integration. The house achieved a BRE Ecohomes rating of Code level 4 (Very good) with a highly efficient environmental performance. Following a full refurbishment and double storey extension to the rear, James Langford Architects were asked to assist the client with the interior design, including furniture & joinery throughout the house and externally, with a new water feature to the rear garden.
