Based in Totnes in the South Hams, Devon, Tradwood specialises in free-standing and fitted furniture. Tradwood is run by myself, Max Darwell, a professional Joiner/Carpenter with a background in traditional boatbuilding. I have worked for high profile boatbuilders such as Will Trickett and RLL Boats and on projects such as the 'SS Great Britain' at Bristol Docks. Since being located in Devon, I have concentrated on joinery and furniture, striving to produce high quality, thoughtfully crafted items.
I specialise in custom built free-standing and fitted furniture made from sustainable sources, and local where possible. My furniture is made using modern and traditional methods and materials. Items I can make include kitchens, wardrobes, libraries, sideboards, bookcases, under stair cupboards, stairs and cabinets for all manner of awkward spaces in both traditional and modern homes. All of my commissions are individually designed, handmade and fitted. Occasionaly I produce one-off items of furniture for sale.
Tradwood uses traditional craftsmanship to produce quality handmade joinery for most environments. Striving to use locally sourced timber I can handle most joinery projects that come my way. This includes windows, doors, staircases, kitchens and timber flooring. I can produce traditional timber products to match existing joinery in a refurbishment project or produce new pieces to meet the clients preferences. I pride myself on the fact that with my business you will only deal with one person from start to finish ensuring an efficient, reliable personal service.
