We have been designing and manufacturing bespoke heat exchangers for over 25 years in our purpose built factory in Hartlepool, UK. Our prime focus is rapid turnaround of replacement exchangers using high quality materials as an alternative to the inflexible and expensive original units. We are able to cross reference original designs using our vast database of over 20,000 records and we hold tens of thousands of design drawings. In rare circumstances where we do not hold sufficient information, we will send our engineers to your location in order to obtain the necessary design data.

Radiator cooling is the most common method of cooling gen set engines. Simple and practical, they fit most applications' needs. All gen sets can be equipped with various sizes of radiators mounted on the front of the unit. However, remote radiators can be used when adequate airflow through the gen set enclosure is not possible. Most radiators are made up of tubes surrounded by fins (the core) that extract heat from water pumped through the system from the engine. AMI can provide replacement radiator cores to suit your installation, we offer direct replacements or re-designs.

Air conditioning coils are usually designed to meet specific thermal and dimensional requirements. If we are sent basic dimensional information we can normally offer a cost effective alternative. Only quality materials are used in our air conditioning coils. Copper, Aluminium and coated Aluminium fins are available. Standard framework uses galvanised steel however we can offer this and integral drip trays in stainless steel if required. Several fin types are available offering different thermal characteristics.

At AMI Exchangers, the efficiency doesn't end with our heat exchangers - we pride ourselves on operating and manufacturing in an environmentally responsible manner. In our factory we receive more than a hundred units per year from our clients for inspection and refurbishment. We refurbish and re-use serviceable parts from the original unit to save on materials and costs. Parts that can no longer be used are disposed of in a responsible manner or recycled where facilities exist. Wooden crates and cardboard packing are also re-used where possible to reduce waste.

We offer an AMI Works Pressure and Material Test Certification free of charge with all of our heat exchangers. However, if you require further certification, we can arrange this for you. If required we can arrange classification certification from almost all internationally recognised bodies. Problems with poor efficiency, service life or vibration related damage? Not a problem, we can modify and improve OEM designs to solve many issues, resulting in greater reliability and efficiency than OEM units!

Our teams of on board engineers travel around the globe, all year round to provide a low cost re-tube and to minimise the downtime of damaged equipment. Dockyard personnel are often expensive and inflexible and ship crews often inexperienced dealing with heat exchangers. Our engineers are experienced, hardworking and flexible and will re-tube or refurbish your oil cooler, condenser, water coolers to a schedule that's suits you. We have completed hundreds of projects for some of the biggest names in shipping, and pride ourselves on offering a second-to-none service which offers considerablesavings and opening up options to vessels to keep them in operation where they would normally be laid up and losing revenue.
