At the core of our $2 billion business is the knowledge and experience of the 8,500 dedicated employees behind our brands. We help our customers navigate their toughest security challenges, and we help builders and property owners differentiate themselves by providing innovative and secure solutions. Operational excellence is a key part of what we do for our customers, and is a focus for our employees. Our trained specification writers and experts not only help our customers adhere to codes and standards - we help advocate for and raise those security standards in the first place, in markets around the world.

Our range of commercial security hardware products include Briton mortice cylinder lockcases with 72mm centres and CISA cylinders including bump and snap resistant models. In a commercial environment there are many factors affecting the type of security and hardware that is used, which differ significantly from those faced in the home.

All external doors should be fitted with a kitemarked lock or nightlatch certified to BS 3621. For timber doors we would recommend a BS 5 lever mortice deadlock or a sashlock. A door fitted with one of these can only be opened with a key, so a thief can't smash a glass panel or climb in through a window to open it from the inside. Garden theft is on the rise and sheds and garages can also be vulnerable. A strong, lockable gate fitted across a side passage will prevent a thief getting to the rear of a property.

At Allegion we are accustomed to working with all major timber and steel door manufacturers to ensure our products can be integrated into fully compliant and CE marked doorset packages wherever applicable. All our CE marked products are available with a Declaration of Performance document which can be downloaded from the download centre. Products are designed to satisfy a comprehensive array of performance requirements including fire testing on timber and steel door applications and durability testing, in some cases beyond 2 million test cycles.

While Allegion is a new name in the security industry, we are not new. For over a century, we have kept people safe and secure with category leading products. From inventing the "panic release bar" exit device in 1908 to pioneering the first-ever electric-controlled lock, our brands have been innovators for almost as long as people have locked doors. Their entrepreneurial spirit is at the core of who we are.

Allegion has a dedicated team of specialists who conduct site visits to advise on installation and best practice, enabling you to get the very best results with this added technical support. Through this you can be sure that you are installing a door hardwareand access control solutions that will keep the building and its occupants safe for many years to come. We provide guidance at the post installation phase to aid overall property management and optimisation of our door hardware. Furthermore you can be assured that product spares are available should they be required.
