We are approved by the S.S.A.I.B (Security Systems Alarm Inspection Board) who are appointed by the Association of Chief Police Officers to protect the interests of the public, and to ensure full compliance with British Standards and the correct use of police resources. We have installed over 11,600 domestic intruder alarms in the Greater Manchester area, most of our systems have been fitted to the homes of people who were looking for a reliable cost effective system from a police 'recognised' company they could trust.

We offer a wide range of security lighting options, from a single unit with floodlight with a passive infra-red movement detector combined (photograph), to multizoned systems which can be connected to any number of movement detectors and light sources installed around the perimeter of your home. Multi-zoned systems can have various combinations of lighting, often decorative Lights at the front of the house are combined with bright 500 watt floodlights at the rear or side. Modern systems can combine external lighting sensors with audible alert and can be connected to a C.C.T.V. system which can then automatically record acitivity around your property in your absence.

At Astra Alarm Systems we can provide a number of alternative methods of monitoring to your intruder alarm, any one of which can be used to summon the Police in the event an intruder is detected. There are two types of monitoring. Systems which are either 'single path' or to 'dual path' systems. Dual path systems are generally preferred because they offer greater resilience in so far as if any one of the paths goes down, either because of a system fault or intruder attack, then the second path can be used to summon the Police.
