Below is the Living room at the beginning of the job. As you can see there is plaster missing and the walls are in a poor state. The walls are prepared for plastering by applying pva and creating a key to the old painted surface to ensure the plaster adheres properly. Here you can see that the walls and ceiling have been plastered and the skirting has been installed. Below is the finished product. The coving has been installed, the ceiling and walls painted and skirting glossed. The customer went for a good quality paint and chose a nice colour to help make the room feel light and spacious.

This is a bathroom I gutted, plastered, tiled and painted. The walls in this bathroom were not level enough the achieve a good neat finish with the tiles, which meant a little extra work getting them ready at the plastering stage. The end result was great and another happy customer.
Step 2: Form the arch. There are ready made arches available from various diy stores. I chose to form my own arch on the example below as the customer didn't want the arch to be too rounded. Step 3: Place beading onto the corners of doorway and the arch to give the edges a nice neat finish. Once the plaster had dried sufficiently then a miscoat can be applied and then two coats of the chosen wall colour.
1. Scrape back the existing Artex ceiling as flat as possible as this will make applying and finish the plaster much easier. 2. Apply pva glue to the ceiling. This helps the plaster adhere to the ceiling and stops the plaster from drying to quickly once applied. 3. Once the pva has dried sufficiently we apply scrim tape to any existing cracks and corners. This will help prevent the existing cracks showing through once the new plaster has been applied.
