Brett Aggregates supplies a full range of bituminous materials, from the conventional macadam and asphalt, to our recently developed thin surfacing systems, from each of our production units at Whitstable and Ridham. An extensive range of Coloured Surfacings are available for use on highly visual contracts. Cycle tracks, domestic driveways and walkways are other examples. A newly developed range of 'drives' surfacing is now also available. Using synthetic binders, this material has been specifically designed to withstand the surface aggravation of power steering, now a standard specification on most new cars.
Brett Aggregates is involved in recycling in across the South and East of England. Inert waste products are imported to our plants, crushed and screened to produce sub-base materials, including aggregates screened to Type 1 gradings. Recycled products are now responsible for nearly 20% of aggregates used in the UK and an upward trend looks set to continue. Our HBMs are made using recycled material and cement to produce a (CBGM) Cement Bound Granular Material - these can be used in place of a traditional sub base in road construction as well as in other building applications.
