Decking can create a stylish, modern outside space to your garden. With countless choices in terms of size, colour and material decking is extremely a versatile option when creating a new landscape feature. One of the key advantages of installing a decked area is you can easily cover unsightly areas with minimal hard work and cost. Decking can be raised up allowing for in built storage underneath for children's toys or gardening equipment. On the whole decking is less labour intensive and more affordable than paving.
The style and material of surfacing you choose when creating a new patio depends on your personal taste or the theme set by your property or it's interior. Patios have to be functional but at the same time pleasing to the eye, we can advise you on a solution which best suits your garden. In my personal opinion paving is a much more economical solution to an outside garden space. Decking although quick and convenient can lead to hours of seasonal maintenance and within a period of ten years leaving you with a slippery unstable hazard.
All our design work is carried out by our director and fully qualified landscape architect Paulo. Paulo has 20 years experience in landscape construction techniques as well as the highest Landscape architectural qualification both graduate and post graduate. His rare ability to implement experience in both design and construction means we can bring quick solutions and spaces of international quality to the most modest of budgets. Whether you need a simple patio or driveway to more ambitious garden design landscaping installations we have the landscapers for every project.
We have many years of experience in laying driveway surfaces both in the domestic and commercial landscaping sectors. All our driveways comply with British Standard specifications using the correct depth and compactable subgrades to ensure they last the test of time. We are happy to give you advice on the design and planning of your new driveway and some of the best options for you and your property. Our first consideration when starting a new driveway is drainage! If your front garden slopes towards your home we will have to install a drainage gully to the front of the building to collect excess rainwater and channel it away.
There are literally hundreds of square miles of lawns across the gardens of Britain. They are easy to maintain, have a multitude of uses and look great. A freshly cut lawn in summer gives a very rewarding feeling of tidiness and satisfaction. The pursuit of a perfect lawn can lead some of us to rather industriousness routines and tentative regimes. Keeping a lawn healthy and happy however is not a science. As long as you have some fundamental things most lawns thrive with ease. Most lawns like drainage, if your lawn is well drained you have minimal chance of compaction and moss dominating.
Fencing is an essential element of any garden giving both partition and back drop to our outside spaces. There is an extensive array of styles and colours to choose from on the market today. The most common type of fencing is a traditional timber feather edge fencing either with panels or assembled in situ. The most important element of any fencing is durability and longevity. Both of these are determined by the specification of the fence and the competence of the fencing installers. All fence posts should be concreted into the ground at a depth of 600mm (2 feet) with a weight of concrete of at least 35 kilograms.
Planting is the difference between having a flat, bare garden to having one alive with colour and textures. As well as colour and texture planting has multiple functions as well as proving, shelter, nectar, structure, fragrance, wildlife, screening and movement to your garden. Some of the challenges people have today with planting is the idea of not knowing where to start and not having the time to care for plants. Here at Buckinghamshire Landscape Gardeners our director Paul has an in depth knowledge of horticulture and planting design.
