Need often finds a way to drive an idea, sometimes further than we all expect, and Bounce Back was just such an idea. In 2011 we started a small painting and decorating social enterprise, with the sole purpose of employing people who were coming out of prison. Recruitment was done through interviews in the prison and the first team of 5 people were commissioned to start off by re-building and decorating our offices. They did a very creative job despite the rather erratic grouting and a few hitches with the quality of electrical fitting and we were all delighted.
The Bounce Back Social Enterprise is a business with teams of professional painters and decorators. Most are people who have either been through the prison or community training programme or have contacted us in the community. We offer the opportunity for qualified Painters and Decorators to join our team to gain experience, more training or as a stepping stone into further employment. Additionally, working with a large number of construction industry partners opens up a wide avenue of opportunities in other industry sectors beyond painting and decorating.
Our work ranges from niche projects with small private clients to large contracts with corporates and construction industry partners on big development sites. We operate in London and inside the M25. Our workforce includes people that have been through our own Painting and Decorating training courses either in prison or in the community. Our Social Enterprise was founded in 2012 with our belief that everyone deserves a second chance. We have grown year on year and transformed the lives of many by working successfully with a wide range of clients.
We are working in collaboration with designers who have generously offered to support us by creating pieces for us to raise money to enable us to help participants back to work. By donating or purchasing an item from our shop you are helping us with our work - helping people to change and start a new life. This in turn reduces crime and assists communities in keeping people safer. The proceeds from the items on this site all go towards funding the tool kits that will get our participants started on their painting and decorating careers.
