We specialise in using an adjustable pressure, low consumption sand jetting system that has been used nationwide for property restoration, including gaining approval for, and subsequently working on, many Listed Buildings. The system works by injecting water into a blast pot, regulating abrasive into the blast stream - which appears as a gritty damp mist. We should note that we use 'sand' as a general term throughout the site as this is the typical term that customers use. In fact you need to be very wary of anyone who actually still uses 'sand' - as if it isn't of the right type and contains free silica (as natural sands - like the stuff on the beach - do) this can cause silicosis which is a similar disease to asbestosis.
We specialise in using a low pressure sand jetting system that we have used nationwide for property restoration, including working on Listed Buildings - with appropriate approval from Conservation Officers. The system, in our trained hands, causes minimal damage to an underlying surface and is flexible enough to tackle most property restoration cleaning tasks. The low pressure sand jet can clean stone without injecting large quantities of water into the surface, and with minimal surface damage, at the same time, the 'damp' system also captures dirt, paint and abrasive, preventing the health and safety risks associated with dry blasting.
Tidied up some beams and brickwork - came up brilliantly, thrilled with the outcome. Helpful and thorough in the planning with the pros and cons clearly explained.
We've cleaned paint and varnish off antique furniture before - but this morning's selection were nicely ornate and particularly satisfying to clean. 'Traditional' dry blasting, but at a really low pressure and with the abrasive valve very tightly closed!
Louis has spent a (very cold) week in Wigan - removing two playground's worth of markings, ready for our customer to put new markings down next week. Thermoplastic off tarmac, with the sand jet.
Onto an easier job today - over in Selby (which we failed to get to last week, for those same floods had gone over each and every road between our base and this house). Removal of paint from brickwork, again using our damp sand jet machine.
Louis has had a fairly miserable time this month cleaning bitumen and plastic sheet from a concrete slab in Helmsley. Braving snow and ice, and then last week turning up to find the fire brigade pumping out the basement car park (under the slab) because of floods - where our machine was stored!.
