South Coast Alarms

At South Coast Alarms we specialise in the installation & maintenance of complete security systems, we use state of the art CCTV and intruder alarm systems. We will design and install a system to meet our Customers unique needs - there is no such thing as a standard installation, or a standard Customer. We offer more than just an alarm system, we promise to educate our Customers so that each can be confident that the system purchased is exactly what is needed. A little about us - we have been established for over 30 years, and have installed around 4000 security systems throughout Dorset. We are a family run business formed by the present Managing Director Andy Grant-Jones and Company Secretary Trudie Grant-Jones. Initially working from a spare room at home, progressing to our garage conversion and then renting office/workshop space at Basepoint Centre in Weymouth. We are now operating from our own commercial freehold property at 167b Portland Road in order to expand our business and offer an enhanced service to our much valued clients.

Monitored burglar/intruder alarms (alarms that send a signal and receive automatic Police Response) are now expected to ‘confirm' alarm activations. Confirmation is received when a second detection device is triggered in the same activation; therefore, something is definitely on site and moving around. If an intruder is detected a signal is sent from the alarm system using either a standard digital communicator, RedCare or DualCom, via the phone line and or cellular network. The signal is received at our Alarm Receiving Centre (these used to be referred to as Central Stations or Monitoring Stations) and a keyholder is duly notified.

We use quality equipment from manufacturers such as Paxton, Videx, ACT, Nortech, Progeny and Terraneo.
